Fast Pitch SoftballUpdated Thursday January 23, 2020 by MLGSA.
Girls Fast Pitch Softball is a competitive sport that requires practice and a level of commitment. It is for girls that are looking for a more competitive atmosphere in softball.
We start our girls at the 10U level, which is an instructional league to learn the fundamentals of the game, We do play a competitive schedule against teams from other communities so we have limited travel for some of our games. This is for girls ages 8 through 10, depending on ability.
Our next level is 12U, for players ages 11 and 12, which continues to instruct and increase the girls' knowledge of the game. We continue to play teams from other communities.
The final level is 15U, which is for girls ages 13 through 15 who are looking to continue to play fast-pitch softball through middle school and into high school.
We have fast-pitch teams that play in a spring league, as well tournament fast-pitch teams that play in the summer and fall.
Mt. Lebanon has a fine tradition of high school fast-pitch teams, having won the WPIAL championship and state championship in 2010 and the WPIAL Championship again in 2014. Many Mt. Lebanon girls have continued to play fast-pitch at the college level, competing and earning scholarships at all division levels.
We look forward to the future of our sport and working with the young girls in our community.
