Our 2020 spring season is canceledUpdatedSunday May 10, 2020 byMLGSA.
Dear MLGSA families:
It is with great sadness that we have decided to officially cancel our 2020 spring softball season. We wish we could be out on the fields playing ball right now, but with the Mt. Lebanon School District shutting down its facilities through the rest of the school year and health agencies still recommending social-distancing practices for the foreseeable future, we feel it’s in the association’s best interest to resolve this lingering question now and instead look to the future.
Families for both slow and fast pitch players automatically will be refunded their registration fee to the credit card they used during our registration process. If, instead of getting a refund, you’d rather have a credit with MLGSA to put toward a future season, please email our treasurer, Dave Bindseil, at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will instead apply a rolling credit to your account. Refunds will begin processing on Monday, May 4.
Typically, the MLGSA assembles slow-pitch and fast-pitch travel teams over the summer, as well as fast-pitch travel teams during the fall. We hope to still field at least some of those teams. Additionally, we plan to brainstorm options that would create local softball opportunities for all of our players – slow and fast pitch – over the coming months once fields are open. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page throughout the spring and into summer for further updates.
